assburgers syndrome

When the heart contracts, blood flows into the arteries with pressure. This cause the well of the large arteries to stretch and expand. When the heart muscles relax, the blood continues to exert pressure on the walls of the arteries though this will be lower. So blood continues to moved along the arteries and blood pressure is maintained. In the disease called arteriosclerosis, the walls of the arteries become rigid and do not stretch with the entry of blood. as a result, the blood pressure rises to a higher level than usual and the heart is put under great strain.
